A large number of Argentinians responded to a nationwide general strike launched by the General Confederation of Labour (CGT) against austerity measures of President Javier Milei's government . The strike took place in the context that the third largest economy in Latin America has fallen into a serious crisis with growth and foreign currency reserves both at negative levels amidst a record increase in inflation.
